yesterday i wanted to see if it is realistic to travel 100 km per day. so, in the afternoon, i rode my bike for 50 km and all went very well, even though it rained. but when i was almost back, about 3 km from home, i ran out of energy within seconds. i realized that i hadn't eaten anything but a muesli in the mornig; that wasn't enough. i just about made it home....i learned an important lesson for the journey.

today i met up with mike, who had promised to check out the set up of my usb charger, which didn't work. he found that, for some unknown reason, it really doesn't work. the good news is that he built a new one at once. we tried it out and it worked perfectly. now we have to test it on a long run, but i guess it will be ok.
